OUR UNIVERSITY

The University is committed to acquiring highly featured, robust and high-tech software system, to make the activities in the University seamless and secured. This feat is being achieved by adopting systems to ease student and staff activity.

The SIWES Unit oversees the placement and supervision of students on SIWES attachment. Its main function is to implement all activities of SIWES as directed by the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) and as approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC) by providing a level playing ground for all qualified students to participate in the Scheme.

Latest Information

1. Students due for SIWES should attend orientation exercises as scheduled by the directorate or department.

2. Make necessary payments for SIWES materials and documents, then come to Admin block B (SIWES Office) for collection.

3. Register online and fill all necessary documents, submit appropriate copies to ITF. Then proceed to your secured place of SIWES (placement).

4. Sign/stamp SCAF form, submit same to ITF Office to indicate commencement of SIWES. Then Upload SCAF to the SIWES portal. Ensure to inform SIWES FUTO of any change of placement during SIWES.

5. After SIWES (before traveling back to campus) sign and stamp your Log book in the ITF Office in the state of your placement (where you did SIWES).

6. At resumption to campus, submit your Log book, Form 8 and your Technical report (a write-up showing what you did) to SIWES FUTO.

7. Prepare for SIWES defence (An oral examination by your department) a six credit load scoring for your second semester third year results.
