The SIWES Unit oversees the placement and supervision of students on SIWES attachment. Its main function is to implement all activities of SIWES as directed by the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) and as approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC) by providing a level playing ground for all qualified students to participate in the Scheme. This it does by effective documentation at the Unit, facilitation of placement opportunities for attachment of students to industries/other establishments, carrying out of supervision exercise of students at attachment locations, collection and collation of SIWES documents upon completion of attachment for the conduct of defense and grading at SIWES participating departments and facilitation of verification exercise by ITF officials for subsequent payment by the Federal Government
